COLLECTION – Censored Mail of Republican Prisoners in Northern Ireland since 1973: Outstanding collection includes 73 covers and cards ( with appropriate censor marks) mailed to men and women who supported the Republican movement and were imprisoned during the 1970’s at Crumlin Road Prison (Belfast), Magilligan Camp (Co. Derry), Armagh Goal (Armagh), and Long Kesh – HMP Maze (near Lisburn, Co. Antrim). Also included are 13 different Political & Propaganda Labels and an 18 page report describing the censored mail of the period and the specific censor markings used at the various prisons.
