ÉPA Web Site Wins Gold

The ÉPA’s website has won a Gold Award from the American Philatelic Society.

The American Philatelic Society has awarded the Éire Philatelic Association’s new web site a Gold in its annual web site competition. The competition judges web sites based on content and layout and provides suggestions for improvements.

The new web site, two years in the making, includes past copies of the Association’s quarterly journal The Revealer, an online auction, the ABC’s of Irish Philately, publications on Irish philately, a loan library, features on current events, links to other philatelic organizations, awards, a slide show of our annual meeting and much more.  Plans for addition to the web site include examples of award-winning exhibits and online articles.

A Certificate was presented to ÉPA Board member Timothy O’Shea ÉPA at the 2015 APS StampShow in Grand Rapids MI (see photo).

The site was designed and built by New York area website developer Robert Kopacz. “I was delighted to hear that the site won a Gold at the Grand Rapids Show,” he said when hearing the news. “The site is built in Drupal, a leading open source content management system which is highly adaptable and extendable, giving the ÉPA the ability to rapidly deploy new content ideas as they come up, to better promote Irish Philately,” he added.
